There are people who play poker to win. And then there are those who play for the pure aesthetic pleasure of the gesture, for the tactile sensation of the well-balanced chips, for the discreet noise of the Modiano cards sliding on the table, for the pleasure of lifting the wood and glass lid of this Corneliani box and feeling, for an instant, like a James Bond taking a break from the casino.

The set is new, never used for a game, just a deck of cards opened to see if there were really cards inside and not, I don't know, a note with the word "joke" written on it. There are high-quality chips, distributed in the classic colors that immediately make Monte Carlo (or at least an elegant lounge with whiskey and imaginary cigars).

I'm selling it because I understand that playing poker with style isn't enough to win, and if your strategy is based only on the prop, then you might as well forget it and give up your seat to someone who knows how to use this set as it deserves. If you know how to play, you deserve a set that's up to par. If, like me, you just want to appear sophisticated while bluffing, at least do it with the right awareness.
