Looking for someone who loves (or at least understands) this watch like I haven't been able to. There's a long and probably too complicated story behind this Sevenfriday P1B-1, a sort of postmodern parable about desire and disillusionment, but what really matters is that it's here, in front of you, ready to be loved – or at least owned. You look at it and immediately understand that it is a watch that wants to be noticed, with its industrial design that winks at that mix of retro futurism and Japanese precision. He's from 2016, but time seems not to have passed on him, or at least not in the way that time passes on us – signs of wear and tear? Zero. Scratches? Not even one. It never fell into those forgotten drawers where unloved watches end up; it always had its original box and documents, like a passport stamped for a trip he never took.
Yet, here he is, ready for a new pulse that can give him the meaning that I was unable to offer him. The black leather strap with yellow stitching is a detail that screams “look at me!” in a way that isn't annoying but compelling, almost like a brilliant and slightly eccentric friend telling you a crazy story, and you can't help but listen. It's a watch that doesn't just ask to be worn; asks to be experienced.
